Introduction

Auddomate answers one question: will automation pay for itself in this building? Here is how it goes about it.

#What it does

You upload a site plan, mark up the racking and aisles, choose the machines you are considering and how many, and Auddomate returns three things a client will actually argue about: throughput against demand, aisle clearance for the machine you picked, and payback in months. Afterwards, it takes the fleet's real run data back in and tells you how far the model was from reality.

Every figure is derived from inputs you can see and assumptions that are printed next to the result. There is no black box.

#What it is not

Auddomate is a planning tool. It does not control, dispatch or communicate with any machine. It is not a warehouse control system, a warehouse management system, or safety-critical software. Its throughput figure assumes steady flow and no congestion, and should be read as an upper bound.

Never use a result from Auddomate as the sole basis for a purchase, a tender response, or a safety assessment. Confirm clearances by site survey and machine performance with the manufacturer.

#The six steps

A study moves through six steps. Only the first is compulsory. Stop wherever the question is answered.

  1. Create a study — name it and attach a client.
  2. Upload a plan — a DXF, a PDF or an image of the building.
  3. Draw the layout — racking, aisles, docks and obstructions, snapped to real dimensions.
  4. Build a fleet — machines, how many, and how many shifts.
  5. Run the model — throughput against the demand you set.
  6. Share the report — print it, or save as PDF, in any of nine languages.

If a client asks whether their building can take AMRs and the answer after step three is no, the study is finished. There is nothing to model and no report to write. That is a result, not a failure.

Test a shift pattern or a peak scenario against your own building, then measure the fleet you installed against what was promised.
