you start from CAD, want a huge library of ready materials, or need a mature product-shot workflow with a big company behind it. It costs more than thirteen times what Pro will, and for many teams it's worth it.
you want spectral light you can verify, on any computer, without a $1,299 subscription.

Questions
Is Auddomate Render a free alternative to KeyShot?
For rendering, yes: the whole studio is free, for good, and runs in a browser tab. KeyShot starts at $1,299 a year. But KeyShot does more. It arranges and lights scenes inside the app, brings models in from CAD through plug-ins, and has a large material library. If you start from CAD or need that library, KeyShot is worth it.
Does Auddomate Render work on a Mac?
Yes. It runs in a recent Chrome, Edge or Safari on any computer with a graphics card from the last few years, with nothing to install. KeyShot runs on Windows and macOS.
Can I check that the light is right?
Yes. Auddomate Render ships 37 checks that measure it against pbrt-v4, the open reference renderer, and you can run them yourself in the studio. We don't know of published checks like these for KeyShot.
